Testicular Cancer
Testicular cancer is one of the rarer forms of cancer, effecting approximately 6 in every 100 000 men. Testicular cancer is considered to be the most curable of all internal cancers. The cause of testicular cancer is unknown, so early detection remains the best protection against the disease.
Signs and symptoms of testicular cancer include:
- Swelling of the testicle or groin area;
- A small, hard lump;
- Changes in the size, shape or texture of the testicle;
- An ache in the lower stomach or groin; and
- A feeling of heaviness in the scrotum.
Many of these symptoms may be caused by a condition other than testicular cancer, however it is important that you have any symptoms investigated by your health professional. |
