Freight Subsidies

Drought Relief Assistance Scheme (DRAS)

DRAS is a scheme set up by the Queensland Government to help primary producers in the grazing industries manage their livestock resource during drought and to assist in the restoration of that resource after drought.

DRAS is administered by the Department of Primary industries & Fisheries (DPI&F) and provides freight subsidy assistance for the transport of fodder, stock drinking water, livestock returning from agistment and restocking post drought. Assistance is available to primary producers in drought declared areas. Contact DPI&F Call Centre 132523 or web site http://www.dpi.qld.gov.au/drought/
